As-salaamu alaykum wa
rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Dear Sisters and Brothers in
Islam,
Alhamdulillah with the blessing of Allah, He has
brought us again to the blessed month of Ramadan through His Mercy. The month of
striving in obedience and supplications, reading the Quran, the month of fasting, standing in prayer at night, and seclusion in the mosque; the month which
has the Night of Decree, a single night that is better than a thousand months.
How many of our Sisters and Brothers around the world were waiting for this month and are no more! We must
be mindful of the enormous privilege and blessing of witnessing this month and
take care to invest these precious moments wisely.
This Ramadan, let us develop
a sense of responsibility toward our Lord, ourselves, our community. Let us resolve to stay away from oversleeping, idle talk,
overindulging in food, extravagant parties, and wasting time on TV programs and
the social media. Let us reach out to new Muslims and Muslims going through
trials to make them feel part of a strong Muslim community. Let us strive hard
to gain the forgiveness and blessings of our Creator, and revive the Sunnah of
our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
We all need to constantly
purify our intentions and seek steadfastness—what better time to take ourselves
to account and renew our intentions than this blessed month?
Ramadan Mubarak, may Allah accept
every good deed done sincerely for His sake.
When was the last time you
picked up the #Quran? If you have been neglecting it all year long, this is the
time to build your bond with the words of Allah. It’s never too late. Allah’s
words of wisdom, love, forgiveness and hope are waiting for you to be read.
The purpose of taraweeh is
not to recite Quran as fast as possible. The Quran deserves to be recited
clearly & correctly at a medium pace.
